About this event
Do you want to know...
What is HARPS?
If your business requires HARPS approval?
How to implement HARPS?
How to register your interest in HARPS and the timelines?
Where you can get additional support and guidance?
Then one of the upcoming HARPS workshops is for you!
Growers and packers who need to know more about retailer food safety requirements are encouraged to attend a HARPS Awareness Session. The Harmonised Australian Retailer Produce Scheme, or HARPS, harmonises the additional food safety, legal and trade requirements developed by the major Australian chain retailers into a single scheme. Certification to a recognised base scheme such as Freshcare, GLOBALG.A.P. or SQF, plus HARPS, is now accepted by the five chain retailers, eliminating the need for duplication and unnecessary costs.
There have been a number of changes in the rollout of HARPS including clearer definitions of suppliers, a delay to compliance date for some businesses and a minimum packed volume for HARPS approval. The HARPS Project Team will be explaining HARPS and these changes at Central Markets and growing regions around Australia over the next few months.
Workshops are being held in Sydney, Bowen, Brisbane, Bundaberg, Gatton, Bunbury, Perth, Mareeba, South Johnstone and Melbourne
