About this event
The legendary Alex Floyd, OAM, local botanist and volunteer at the Coffs Harbour Botanic Garden has generously offered to guide this walk through the paperbark forest next to the retirement village where he now lives in Toormina. He has published a number of books about rainforest communities and plants and several plants are named after him. Alex will show us a total of three vegetation communities and their identifying plants: Paperbark Swamp Forest, Wet Sclerophyll Forest and littoral rainforest plants.
Alex has a special talent in pointing out the features of a plant that stand out and make it easy to remember the species and the wonders of these vegetation communities still fascinate him, which transfers to the listener.
